Teachers

 

Christine Lee :(BM in Piano Performance, University of Hawaii at Manoa) has taught for 25 years and is the owner of Young’s Piano Studio in Honolulu. She studied at the University of Hawaii at Manoa where she studied with Peter Corragio, Beebe Freitas and Paul Lyddon. Since 2006, she has been a nationally certified teacher of music in piano through the Music Teachers National Association and has been a member of Hawaii Music Teachers Association for 15 years. She has also taught at the School of Performing Arts for three years. Ms Lee is also a member of the Honolulu Piano Teachers Association.

Ms Lee’s students have placed many times in the HMTA Junior Artist competitions, including first place. Her students also perform at senior citizen communities as a public service.

In addition to teaching, Ms. Lee was a piano accompanist at the Korean Central Union Church for seven years and at the Korean Catholic Church for five years. She has written the music columns “Introduction to Classical Music” for the Korean Central Daily Newspaper, “A Tour of Popular Classical Music” for the Korea Times and has also written for “Weekly Hawaii” Magazine. Ms. Lee has also broadcast radio shows on music history and pedagogy for Radio Seoul and for three months by invitation of Radio Korea Hawaii (AM 1460). Ms. Lee has served as an adjudicator for the Korean Festival Singing Contest and for many years for the Korean Language Singing Contest.
